Elon Reeve Musk, mostly known as Elon Musk, is a South African-born American. Born in June 28, 1971, Elon Musk is the founder of X.com (now known as PayPal) in 1999, Space X in 2002, and the sports car brand, Tesla in 2003. According to Forbes 2018, Elon Reeve Musk has a total net worth of 19.2 billion USD.
How does Musk maintain his bulky and well-established build while having multiple companies to manage?
Waking up at seven a.m. and sleeping at 1 a.m., the 47-year-old billionaire gets six to six and a half hours of sleep on average. Cutting off his 100 – 120 hour-week working time to 80-90 hours per week, Musk is trying his best to exercise once or twice a week. His workouts consist of a one-hour cardio workout, intense treadmill session, and occasional weightlifting.
His eating pattern is not constant either. Breakfasts are rarely eaten, and coffee is his daily companion. He feeds on caffeine and sweets to boost his energy and consumes his lunch during meetings in five minutes. During an interview, Musk admitted that he sometimes doesn’t eat dinner since he has a lot of things to work on. Only between dinner meetings does he eat a lot since the meal will be served throughout the meeting.
Elon Musk does not drink alcoholic beverages. “I don’t drink alcohol because I don’t like how it tastes,” said Musk during an interview in 2013. His former classmates attest to this, saying they usually let Musk talk to the police because he is the only one sober for conversations. Musk also started cutting down his caffeine intake recently, dropping from eight (8) cans of diet coke to two (2) to four (4).
According to Musk’s High School colleagues in another interview, Elon Musk was never a fan of sports to begin with. They say, “He never had interest in sports which made him feel isolated in an athletic-biased environment.”
Despite his busy schedule, Elon Musk makes sure to keep an eye on his physical, mental and emotional health by balancing work and family affairs. Musk confirms this through an interview in 2013. He makes sure to catch up with his six children during the weekends. He plays video games, tries on trendy challenges nowadays (like the ice bucket challenge) and goes out for occasional movies.
