A Robot Chef: the Future of the Cooking World

19/11/2018 by Fitprince Leave a Comment

Everyone needs a healthy lifestyle if they want to survive working through each day. But a myriad of responsibilities has lessened people’s time for taking care of themselves and preparing their own meals.

With the help of technology, engineers have developed a new way to make prepare meals easier: a cooking robot.

A Robot Chef

The robot has the ability to cook over 100 different meals, with recipes that come from well-known human chefs all over the world.

According to the CEO and founder of Moley Robotics, the cooking robot does not work on its own, but it can do almost everything in the kitchen like a human chef.

An LCD touch screen or a remote in a smartphone or tablet controls the robot. It has its own library that the user manages. The library provides several things to consider, including calorie count, cooking method, dietary restrictions, portions, and other specifications.

The user selects a recipe and places the individual pre-packaged ingredients. Once they press the start button, the robot begins the cooking process. It also comes with cabinetry, appliances, utensils, and a system that lets it do everything at once.

After cooking, the machine cleans the cooking area and locks up. It withdraws with glass doors that separate it from the rest of the kitchen.

The Moley Robotics cooking robot records a human chef’s cooking style. Master Chef winner Tim Anderson’s style inspired the creation of the cooking robot. Stanford University provided help in analyzing his cooking patterns. They used digital algorithms to recreate Anderson’s style of chopping and other movements and techniques.

One of the first recipes programmed in the machine is Anderson’s crab bisque. He perfected it after five attempts, and the cooking robot can create a dish similar to the chef’s.

Moley plans for the cooking robot to have two human-like hands with fingers, connected to a wall.

Benefits

The robot will benefit those who are following a strict fitness or weight loss routine. Managing every meal is the first part of creating a health routine, before thinking about transforming one’s physical look. Fitness fanatics thus have to spend a lot of time preparing the right meals for their goals. If they’re not skilled cooks, this can be a hindrance, but the robot can take the preparation off their hands, making it easier to achieve fitness success.

This will also benefit those who tend to eat fast food. They can now enjoy every meal at home without worrying about the extra hassle and stress it takes to prepare them. The cooking robot will do all the nitty-gritty work while they relax before mealtime.

Every user has the opportunity to upload their own recipes, and all users have the freedom to choose from these new recipes.

One of the important aspects of fitness meal preparation is eating at consistent times during the day. The cooking robot keeps track and provides what you need at a certain time. It stores your chosen recipes and reminds you of every meal you’ve set up. You can plan for the whole week in advance, making the diet routine easier to follow and keeping you from making a bad decision at the spur of the moment.

The Future of Cooking

Moley Robotics’ prototype cooking robot was built for around 18 years. It is currently shown in the world’s largest robotics show, Hanover Messe. Moley is now readying the cooking robot for mass production. They are designing the robot to work even in regular-sized kitchens. A published iTunes-style recipe book is also expected to organize a variety of dishes.

The cooking robot does not only save time and labor. It also enhances the user’s creativity and even help them become a better cook. It will help create a brighter future for the world if the public embraces this way of cooking.
